 Facilitating Business Leadership
Often Business Leaders and Senior level Managers in a business have little or no time and no one appropriate to discuss 1001 issues. By simply discussing them in a relaxed, serious but engaging atmosphere, with a professional, not only do issues and priorities become clearer but burdens are liften and new directions are challenged. We have seen this happen countless of times. Didn't they tell you it was lonely at the top ?

This is your private confidential advisor who will share with you your problems, challenges, concerns and ideas, ask the right questions and filter out the Necessary from the Possible. In addition we also hold Top Team "change management" workshops, dealing with similar issues at a team and organisational level.

For individual mentoring, meetings are held between one and eight times a month, depending upon requirements throughtout your business cycle. Most assignments with clients are for six months. Fees are monthly and based on the time spent, agreed before hand, with the client. For restricted Client budgets this is a very effective way of receiving an enormous amount of input and outcomes of value added business advice and recommendations.

 Interim Business Management
It is often the case with medium and larger companies, especially companies belonging to a group that a very Senior Manager, has to be brought in at short notice in order to bring about strategically important changes.

Depending on the size of the organisation and the brief given by the client, GBS is able to step in at short notice and take the reins of this business on behalf of the Group holding company or the Shareholders and manage the day to day operations, as well as develop the way forward in terms of a new Strategy and Mission. This is often called Change Management, Crisis Management, Turnaround or something similar, but we simply call this Interim Business Management, where we go about making good where things have gone wrong.

This is your new Interim or temporary Board level Manager or one position below, who will ensure your business is managed in such a way that it will be stabilised, develop and grow, be more successful, but at the same time manage risk and uncertainty.

Period of assignment is from 3 months and up to 28 months, and a commitment of up to 95% full time, as a member of the Management Board, or by some other arrangement. In the case of Facilitating Business Leadership where a very wide scope of business sector Clients can be managed by GBS, Interim Business Management has to be more sector specific, especially where the company has a turnover sales of more than £30m per annum and employs over 400 employees full time. See Who we are for sector experience.

The problem or challenges are defined together with the Client. We take ownership of the challenge and focus on delivering the results, as required. Fees are monthly fixed and in some cases may also be based on a variable financial reward directly related to measurable, tangible objectives upon which we have direct influence.

 UK and Poland Entry Strategies
Since Poland joined the European Market in May 2004, we have noticed that there are many more Polish companies wishing to enter the Uk market, like-wise, many UK companies are interested and entering the Polish market. Projects which might be of interest to Clients are as follows:
    •  Market research on consumer readiness for new product import
    •  Establishing supplier links
    •  Researching competitors
    •  Establishing local representative office or Limited company entity
    •  Examining legal and tax implications of new product import entry

GBS is able to offer directly to Uk Clients services so called “On the Ground” in Poland . Like-wsie, for Polish Clients wishing to do business in the UK , GBS has partnered with firms in the UK as a means of directing Polish firms to reliable UK advisory and consultantcy firms that may be able to assist.

 Some internal frameworks we use
Over the years, working in various companies as well as advising and facilitating Clients, with the help of business school models, frameworks and concepts, GBS has developed its own brand of tools or processes in analysisng, defining and implementing business problems and challenges.

In almost all assignments that we undertake, we use the following as a framework in understanding where the business is today and where it might be tommorrow. You may not see here the classical approach of a SWOT analysis, or a 4 C's or 5 'S or a Porter strategic model. We have simply accumulated our skills, experience and reading and come up with the following five human to business success factors which, from our perspective, form the foundation and backbone to successfully managing and leading any organisational to sustainable growth and long term success.
    •  Leadership - defining, finding potential, developing
    •  Expertise - defining, assessing, motivating and maintaining
    •  Competencies - defining, assessing, developing
    •  Organisational structure - optimizing to suit only your business
    •  Organisational culture - assessing, re-directing, nurturing
    •  Creativity and innovation - challenging the paradigm - thinking outside the box
On the above, five human to business success factors , we could write and say a good deal more. Of course we will be only too pleased to do so at any time. But as we said earlier on, we will not present models and frameworks, but practical, down-to-earth advice, recommendations and solutions to many critical business components.

We use the above, as our own internal framework, it helps us to structure our thoughts and plan what needs to be tackled. What you will see is a structured and methodical approach which will support you in working through various issues.

So whether we are dealing with financing and reporting management figures, raising finances, dealing with suppliers in China or increasing productivity, focusing customer service team on the client, or recruiting you can be assured, the five principles above will always be applicable.

 Charge structure
Fees depend on four factors:
The size of your business, as this usually impacts on the complicatedness of the assignment
The nature of the assignment itself
The type of option or support tool you decide to go with
    The duration of the assignment
In broad terms to give you an idea of the fees we have charged in the past on numerous assignments with Clients, we give the following for indicative purposes only:
